2023 Tiktok Hair Trends
If you are anything like us - you spend wayyy too much time on Tiktok. Our For-You-Pages have been filled with the latest hair trends and hairstyles. With social media being the leader of the trendsetting in the world of beauty and fashion, we are fully embracing it by letting Tiktok inspire us to try new styles with our hair! So here are three styles we are loving right now and our guide on how to achieve them!
Fake Dyson AirWrap Blowout Curl
The Dyson Airwrap has been on everybody’s gift wish list for the last couple of years. However, Tiktok has shown us that you don’t need to break the bank on the Airwap to achieve those bouncy curls you’ve been seeing all over your FYP! All you need is your trusty curling iron (we recommend the Bio Ionic Long Barrel Iron) and a bit of practice. Here’s a breakdown of how to achieve those voluminous curls without the Airwrap:
Step 1 – Prepping Your Hair
Start with clean, dry hair. Apply a heat protectant spray to shield your hair from heat damage. We love Oribe’s Invisible Defense Spray!
Step 2 - Section Your Hair
Depending on the thickness of your hair, divide it into manageable sections. *If your hair needs to be smoothed, then run a round brush through it to give it some volume and ease any frizz!
Step 3 - Curling
Take a section of hair (we always say the rule of thumb is to take a section of hair the size of the curling iron you are using) and wrap it around the curling iron, starting near the base. Make sure to wrap your ends in the iron to achieve that classic blow-out look! Hold the hair around the iron for a few seconds, then release and gently slide the hair out of the iron. If your hair has trouble holding the curl, we recommend holding the curl in your hand until cooled!
Step 4 - Rinse and Repeat
Continue curling sections of hair until you reach your front pieces. Make sure to always curl the hair towards your face. This will give your curls that bouncy, blown-out look!
Step 5 - Front Pieces & Bangs

To achieve that volume in the bangs and front pieces, grab the section of hair with your front pieces and flip the curling iron with the clamp facing away from your face. Hold the iron above your head horizontally and curl the section starting from the ends to your root. Hold there for a couple seconds, release, and roll into a hair roller to cool if you have one (you can always clip the hair in that formation to cool too!). Then brush out the curl to reveal that bouncy, blown-out bang look!
Step 6 - Finishing Touches
Once all of your hair is curled, run your fingers through the curls to loosen them slightly and create that effortless look. Mermaid Hair with Braided Front Pieces
Okay, we’ve all dreamt about being a mermaid at some point in our lives. Their hair always looks perfect and beachy and they get to live their best lives 24/7, what else could you ask for?? We might not be able to escape the reality of being human, but we can style our hair cute! Messy beach waves with braided front pieces seem like the most mermaid-y hair we’ve ever seen! We’ve been seeing this style all over Tiktok and have fallen in love with it! Who says you have to be on the beach to have mermaid hair? This style is perfect for any occasion you want to channel your inner mermaid!
Step 1 - Prep Your Hair
Start with dry hair and apply your favorite heat protectant. Then divide your hair into manageable sections based on your hair’s thickness.
Step 2 - Using the Waver
Beginning with the bottom section, take a small section of hair, about 1 to 2 inches wide. Using a hair waver (We love the Beach Washed Waver sold at the She Bangin’ Salon), clamp the hair waver over the section, starting near the roots. Hold the waver in place for a few seconds, then release and move the waver down the hair, leaving the ends out for a more beachy look!
Step 3 - Front Braids
Create two little sections at your temples on both sides of your head. Take a small section of hair from the front of one side. Divide it into three equal sections to start a braid. Secure With a clear elastic. If you want your braid to be a little bigger, you can fan out the braid by pulling on the sides of the braid all the way down. Spray the braids with a flexible hairspray to prevent any frizz.
Step 4 - Final Touches

Bubble braids have been a huge internet trend for the past couple of seasons, so combining both trends into one hairstyle just makes sense!
Step 1 - Prep Your Hair
This hairstyle works on clean or very dirty hair! Just make sure your hair is smooth and tangle-free.
Step 2 - Creating the Slicked Back Pony
After securing your hair into a pony (high, mid, or low), use a small amount of hair gel, pomade, styling cream, or wax to smooth any flyaways or baby hairs back.
Step 3 - Bubble Braid
Starting a few inches down from the top of the ponytail, secure with a hair elastic to create your first "bubble." Gently tug the hair between the two elastics to create that bubble look! Repeat this process down the length of the ponytail.
Step 4 - Finishing Touches
Spray your hair with hairspray to add extra protection against frizz and flyaways to maintain that slicked-back, polished look. If your bubbles need to be slicked down apply some hair gel and/or hair spray to the pony.
Adjust the bubbles as needed, making sure they're evenly spaced and have the desired volume!
